Launcher won't connect to internet

When starting the Minecraft Launcher this morning, I noticed that it was not connected to the internet, which as a solely multiplayer person is essential. I have tried restarting my router, restarting my pc, restarting the launcher. I also turned my pc's firewall off briefly to see if that allowed the launcher to connect, but it didn't help. I saw that it was suggested somewhere about logging out and then logging back into the launcher, but now when I put in my information, it just says something about needing to connect to internet, and now I cannot get into my account at all due to this problem.

It also can't be anything to do with the internet itself as my mum has been working this whole time and she has not had problems. I am also able to go onto Google and Steam, but still not able to use Minecraft because of this problem I am having with the launcher.
