Hi, we have been following the discussion on Reddit regarding this, and had a little chat within the launcher team. We considered changing the image to the one "fixed" by the community, but we felt it was missing the adventurous feeling by downsizing Steve and Alex. This is an artistic take on Minecraft and shouldn't have to be perfectly accurate.
It sparked an interesting discussion however as to why we are even showing this image, and if it would make sense to change it at some point. We even discussed showing a cyperpunk-themed image featuring a skeleton, because why not. For now however we are waiting for our design team to come back from vacations, and will take a decision on what to show in a couple of weeks.
