Upon running the launcher, a small loading screen usually appears very briefly. Now, my launcher freezes at the beginning stages of "updating" the launcher and I am asked to force quit upon attempting to cancel.
I have already tried uninstalling (tragic) and reinstalling, but the problem remains.

@Sean HAnd I'm sure we're not the only ones, then. You'd think they'd be on top of something so big? Apparently it's always been a problem earlier in the launcher's history, albeit with different details, and there's a number of viable solutions that require a good amount of elbow grease (especially for a mac). I've tried them all. Getting worried/sad/agitated.
I am unable to reproduce the issue perfectly. Could someone experiencing this issue upload the file at ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/nativeUpdaterLog.txt and attach it to the issue?

a me ha cominciato a fare questa cosa ieri ero riuscito una volta ad entrare ma poi appena sono uscito a cominciato a rifarlo
is there such thing as task manager on mac/IOS? If there is then when you get a notification, try finding Minecraft launcher (there might be more than one) and try ending task on one of them. The game should resume loading, just like mine
P.S. I use windows so i don't know to much about mac and IOS.
I got the same problem. This is a recent bug of some sort. My loading screen gets stuck at 95%., and then it forces me to quit.
