when I launched up minecraft and updated the launcher the game warned me about a mod and then the mod dissapeared and no matter what I did I could not launch any mods bacause they were not n the launcher anymore. I could not do anything with mods.

Please check "Modded" as a filter in the Installations tab. This will enable listing modded installations across the launcher.
