This morning I loaded the Minecraft Launcher and it prompted me that is now possible to add Microsoft Accounts. So I did it, but now I got two accounts in the Launcher. The first is my Mojang account with which I can play just fine. The second one is an account created after adding the Microsoft Account and it says that I don't have the full game (which of course is not true since I already got the Java Edition of the game with a Mojang Account). Plus, if I login with the Mojang Account, I didn't have any cape as promised, so I think that the account linking is effectively not working...

Hi Jimi, it is correct that if you have added a Microsoft Account that you have not purchased the game with, it will show as you don't own it on this account.
Account migration will start in 2021 as Mark mentioned. At that point we will transfer the game ownership from your Mojang Account, over to a Microsoft Account of your choice. You will be notified in the Launcher and via email once this migration can happen.

Accounts will not be migrated until the start of 2021, and it will occur in phases. You'll be prompted with a popup in the launcher (I think) and then you will be able to migrate your account.
Until then, you'll have to use your Mojang account to sign in (no cape, yet!).
