On my (new to me) laptop I installed the Minecraft launcher but all I can see is a grey screen. I can move my mouse around and click on stuff but I can't see what it is that I'm clicking.
I have a theory that it might be this specific laptop's hardware, an i7-2670QM, and an NVS 4200M from Nvidia.

I Tried to repair with the minecraft setup but didn't worked

The launcher worked yesterday when i bought the game, but doesn't work anymore...

Yeah, I also tried deleting all the files and using the repair option in the installer.

Let's hope it gets resolved soon cause I really want to play....

Yeah, I got this laptop for my brother, so I really hope we can get Minecraft working.
Just curious, Emilien what are your computer's specs? I have a theory that the issue might have to do with the hardware.

Yeah that's odd, it shouldn't be doing that.
Please try this to see if it solves your problem:
Close down Minecraft Launcher
On Windows, open Control Panel
Go to Programs, then Uninstall a program
Select Minecraft Launcher
Click Repair
Approve the User Account Control prompt
After the repair has finished, start Minecraft Launcher and let it finish updating
Did this solve your problem?

Hi, thanks for the response.
Ok, I followed your steps, and clicked repair. The launcher popped up and said it was updating. It finished and closed after a few seconds. I then started the launcher and it finished updating the launcher, however I'm still having the grey screen issue.

Thanks for testing that! Let's try the next thing. Would you mind attaching the full launcher log found in minecraft/launcher_log.txt?

I attached the launcher_log.txt
I was able to sign into the launcher by comparing the button distance in the launcher on my other computer and guessing where they were on this laptop. I was also able to guess where the play button was and was able to get into 1.16.4.
I would like to be able to use optifine and other performance mods as this is a laptop and it could use the extra performance. I cant currently do this of course because i cant see to switch profiles.

So let me get this straight; you manage to click on elements in the Launcher, even though you can't see them?

Yes that is correct.
I think this probably has something to do with the graphics card/driver in this laptop?

Last thing I'd like you to test:
Could you attempt to click on "Microsoft Login" on the landing page, or by clicking Settings, Accounts, and Add Microsoft Account. This should pop a new window. Can you see the content on this screen?

I was able to get that window open but its just blank white. I can move my mouse around and it can interact with stuff but yet again I cant see.
I attached a screenshot

I was able to get it to work!
I was correct, it was the graphics driver.
I used DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove the old graphics driver and then I installed the latest graphics driver for my GPU, the Nvidia 4200M. Current Driver: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/164081/en-us
I can now see the launcher as you normally should be able to.
If anyone else finds this and needs help you can DM me on discord and I'll help walk you through the steps. My discord ID: CaptainJoe#0029

Happy you got it fixed!
Also, I can't get an error log because I can't do anything in the launcher.
