Each time i want the launcher to load a modern version of minecraft, the launcher just fails to do it, i switched to the old minecraft launcher and it did launch the game, but over time, the old launcher has been failing as well, both launchers seem to just be able to launch old minecraft versions of minecraft, such as alpha 1.0.5, beta 1.7,3, etc. but each time i open my inventory in the alpha versions with the modern launcher running it, the game crashes.

Hi Bruno, you are attempting to start a modified version of 1.16.4. The modification might be the issue itself, and nothing we can fix. Please try using a vanilla installation of 1.16.4, and if you still have issues create a new bug.
We do not have enough information to find the cause of this issue.
