After the new self-updating launcher released on Linux, the launcher won't open. I installed the launcher from the Debian release on minecraft.net, and the .deb file is version 915.
When I run minecraft-launcher
in the terminal or from the app launcher, after instilling the launcher's files it endlessly opens new processes titled minecraft-launcher --nativeLauncherVersion 915 --chainLoad
, with each new process having --nativeLauncherVersion 915 --chainLoad
appended again. This never opens main launcher window, but starts using more and more CPU and RAM until I run killall -9 minecraft-launcher
to close all the processes at once.
