When trying to start Minecraft, the launcher fails to start.
It shows up in Task Manager for a second and then closes.
Reinstallation doesn't help.
I removed Minecraft from the computer, restarted the computer, cleared all cache data, installed Minecraft again.

In my head, removing and installing is equal to reinstalling.
I installed Windows from scratch on another computer and then installed Minecraft Launcher. The same thing happened.
I then copied all necessary files from another computer where Minecraft runs ok, and then Minecraft loaded successfully.
Does MCL-17664 describe your issue?

I reside in Norway but I have an English (US) version of Windows. I've no Norwegian-related software or any Norwegian setup except for the date and currency settings.
I also installed English Windows on a virtual machine, and the same problem occurred.
I suspect the cause is due to your region rather than your windows install. For that reason I'm going to resolve this as a dupe of MCL-17664 as it's describing the same issue.

I set region and date and currency settings to United States, and installed Minecraft Launcher.
The launcher just quit after a second without displaying anything on the screen.
Sorry you're having trouble
Please try uninstalling and reinstalling the Launcher: https://launcher.mojang.com/download/MinecraftInstaller.msi
