I tried to open the launcher as usual. Got a window saying "Updating Minecraft Launcher" and then a window saying "Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher". It just hangs there and I can't play the game at all.

Never mind. Probably a duplicate of MCL-16888 and restarting the computer fixed it anyway.
