I purchased Minecraft a long long time ago and have now switched computers. When I go to where I should be able to open the new version on my new computer, the Minecraft Launcher tells me "sorry, something went terribly wrong and you probably encountered a bug" with no further information.

A quick restart of the launcher fixed the issue for me, I also shut down the computer I had previously opened in case there was some sort of multiple log-in issue.

I have the same issue. I believe it might have something to do with them messing up the account migrations. When I log in to minecraft.net with my Mojang account it's telling me I haven't even bought it!

I've sent them a support ticket with my transaction ID - I refuse to pay for it again.
