On the Minecraft launcher, when I click on Java edition, it says there is a bug and I cannot play the game. Minecraft Dungeons has no problems showing play.

I have the exact same issue on Pop_OS, which is a Ubuntu-based linux software. My is a Dell G3 with 8GB of RAM, i5-9300H and 256GB SSD + 1To HDD. I used the official launcher for linux.
after installing java the game will start
