When installing Minecraft Java through the new launcher from Microsoft Store at some point of the instalation an error screen appears, forcing to restart the computer. This not only happens when installing the game, after restarting the computer and trying to play, the same error occurs.

Wouldn't this be a good mainline issue to track this problem? It seems there are plenty enough of common cases, and most of them seem to be only in Windows 11.
Is it possible to provide a screenshot of the error message you get? It's possible the issue you're describing is MCL-19992
There's no error message. The PC just freezes and dies and you're forced to restart. At least on my end.
Whenever the crash happens using the new launcher it just says that there was a problem with WCIFS.sys and restarts (i am using Windows 11 beta distro)
Can confirm, this is a real issue. Affecting All Windows 11 Insider Builds.
There is no error screen, no BSOD (or GSOD), nothing. It is exactly like pressing the reset button (or for those without one, Holding the power button). It kills power and then turns your PC back on.
Confirmed it restarts my PC on the recommended Windows 11 beta build, maybe due to a security issue. Java is at fault here, but Bedrock functions perfectly.
Hi
I can confirm that it also reboots my PC.
There are no error messages and I checked the event viewer and there is nothing showing. Minecraft for Windows and Minecraft Dungeons are fine. It is just Minecraft: Java Edition with the issue.
I uploaded a video from my phone so you can see what happens. Not much really!
Minecraft Launching to about 30%
Stopping
Black Screen
Pop from the speakers as PC reboots
Windows logon screen
I have Windows 11 Pro - version - 10.0.22000 Build 22000
Can confirm this is happening on my end too.
has the last frame before my computer completely froze. Yes, there wasn't even a bluescreen or anything.
Using Latest Stable version of Windows 11, as shown
.
I've also saved a
with my specs and the rest of my system details.
