I'm just taken aback on why there hasn't been any clarity on why after owning this game for years, the new launcher won't allow me to install let alone play from the Microsoft store.
I'm truly hoping this isn't intended.
If it isn't, it seems like this launcher was released half baked.
I'm sure this isn't a problem with my system since, one I'm not the only one, and two I've tried all online fixes to no avail.
I'd love some clarity or a timeline on when this will be fixed since I certainly can't use the last launcher.

to clarify; I own Java and don't plan on buying bedrock (especially since it's not working now, how would I know if it'd work for the bedrock version) and didn't think I'd have to.

Could you answer few questions regarding this issue, it will help with the investigation:
Does this issue occur on newest version of the Launcher?
Have you tried to install older version (Windows7/8) of Launcher from the minecraft.net website?
Are you logged in in both Xbox app, MS store, and Launcher with the same MS account?
Have you tried signing out of all your Windows Apps, and the signing in again?
Is your Windows and associated apps (Xbox app, MS store) up-to-date?
Have you tried to re-registering MS store as written here?
Do you have enough free space on your disc drive?
Have you tried downloading 'Xbox Identity Provider' found here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/xbox-identity-provider/9wzdncrd1hkw#activetab=pivot:overviewtab (or in MS store)?
Do you use VPN or any of the incompatible software on machine you try to log-in?
Could you provide us with more in-depth repro steps?
