I installed the new version of the launcher, but after opening it I couldn't play the Java Edition of Minecraft. It appears that the launcher didn't recognize I had the Java Edition installed. I went on minecraft.net and even on there it showed me that I don't have the Java Edition installed.
I bought the Java Edition on January 2021 and have been able to play the game several times since then without problems. I never had a Mojang account and have been logged in with my Microsoft account since the start. It seems like this problem occurred after I installed the new launcher. I contacted Expert Support and they forwarded me here because they claimed that this was a bug. I followed their advice about downloading other versions of the launcher and relogging with my Microsoft account, but the problem still persisted.
I am not willing to pay 25 euros for Minecraft Java Edition again. It would be great if this problem could get solved as soon as possible. Thanks in advance!
