I understand that minecraft can take a long time to install on my computer, but the loading bar stopped early and the game won't install. My friend had the same. I have bought a game so I don't want to find out that I won't be able to play.

Go to https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download and select "Download for Windows 7/8". Use the old Java launcher instead. There is currently a bug affecting the latest launcher for Windows 10/11, hopefully, it will get resolved ASAP.
