Unable to create java profile

I originally bought Minecraft bedrock edition, now that I am able to redeem a java account I tried to do that. After putting in the username that I wanted the launcher would then say that it "Failed to create profile." I have tried creating the account over 20 times and this same message appears every time. I have seen other people talk about the same or similar issues. After updating and deleting then reinstalling  the launcher and nothing has worked. my friends who have done the reverse  (buying java first then making a bedrock acount for free) have had no issues.
