When i try to launch java edition on my iMac (macos 10.11) when the launcher tries to download the installation, it ALWAYS freezes at 5.65kb. I have no idea how to fix this. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the launcher, and i have tried making new installations, but nothing works. Attached below is a screenshot of the bug. Please help 😞. Also, if i try to quit the launcher during this bug, it ends up becoming unresponsive, and i have to force quit the launcher.Â

Could you please uninstall launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere beforehand) and then install the latest dmg installation file from minecraft.net website?
Remember to update JAVA JDK to the latest version, if you have the latest version, try downgrading Java.
Also, make sure you dont have any MODs installed.
