Pretty simple and not that important, but if you open the minecraft launcher and it starts to update, if it gets past the first few quick update steps and starts the main download, you cannot cancel it.
(Also, I am observing this on the windows 7 launcher. I don't use the 10 launcher)
What I expected to happen was...:
...the launcher to close and stop downloading.
What actually happened was...:
...it stays open and fully finishes the download + still opens the launcher. The only thing that changes is that it changes the text to cancelling.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Not open the launcher for long enough to have a launcher update due
2. Open the launcher
3. Press "cancel" when it's past the small parts and starts the main download. Witness it never close.
Hi there!
Does this issue occur on Win10/11 version of the Launcher?
Do you have updated Windows (check for updates regardless)
Have tried to uninstall the Launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere before deletion) and then reinstall, restart your computer?
Please also install Xbox app, Xbox companion and Xbox identity provider.
