So, when I try to create a new installation of Minecraft Java Edition, the versions drop-down opens for a split second, then disappears. I couldn't click anything in the drop-down.

Does this issue occur on the newest version of the Launcher?
Does it occur on the newest BETA version of the Launcher?
Can you please record a video of the issue?
Can you please upload launcher_log file from .minecraft folder?
Please also uninstall the Launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere before deletion) and then reinstall, restart your computer. Then please try to boot the Launcher.
Also, can you please check if other mouses have the same issue?
