On MacOS 13.1. when starting minecraft 1.19.3 it often happens that some very large file(s) are downloaded which takes a very long time especially without access to fast internet connection (total duration including cleanup: ca. 15 minutes).
Since this seem to happen about twice a week this is a very blocking performance issue.
Maybe a new snapshot is downloaded, or the entire game again ❓ , but it does not change anything with the actual gameplay.
This performance issue should be investigated and fixed.

I am not sure I can download installer again, I was on this page https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/store/minecraft-java-bedrock-edition-pc where I would have to pay 29.99 again? So I am not sure how to download the installer again. Maybe a clear, detailed and direct fully pointed webaddress would help (something like minecraft.net/about/main/downloads/installer_download.html).
Also, where do I find the .minecraft folder?
But I just started the game again and voila - the "Updating Minecraft" popup appeared at 20:17 (19:17 UTC on 10 Feb 2023) (see screenshot). There is also some heavy downloading activity visible in the "Activity monitor".
At 20:34 (UTC 19:34) finally "cleaning up" ( see screenshot), and after that finally Minecraft did start!
Hi again!
Sign in with Your MS account and go here https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download
Or go to https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/get-minecraft and scroll down to "Already bought the game?" section, click "Download minecraft again" and choose your preferred version.
Your Minecraft folder is in Users>[your account]>Library>Application Support>minecraft or if you want faster option, open the Launcher click installations, and on your installed Java game click folder icon, that will open minecraft folder where all your installed games are.

Hi there!
Could you please upload a video of the issue (it does not have to be whole 15 minutes 😉 )?
Please also upload launcher_log file from .minecraft folder.
Also uninstall the Launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere before deletion) and then download installer from minecraft.net again and reinstall, restart your computer. Then please try to boot the Launcher.
Does this issue occur every time you open the Launcher?
Is it only happening while you try to boot 1.19.3?
