When the Minecraft game fails to launch due to a crash (with mods for example), the minecraft launcher's position on the desktop changes. This is not an issue that mods are installed and not working. This is an issue with the launcher, not the game.
Expected behavior:
The launcher window should not change position by itself.
The first video showing the launcher moving after the game crashing:

A vanilla new instance video showing the same issue:
Β
NOTE: Affects version is incorrect. Should be 2.3.646 but I cannot select that option. Also affects version 2.3.651. This is the legacy launcher, not the launcher from the Windows Store.

Hi! After testing this myself, I discovered that the application window always opens in the same position and size last saved by Windows.
It is therefore likely that the underlying issue has something to do with how the Launcher restores these window attributes after the game crashes. However, it might also be the way Windows stores these values that is causing this problem.
To reproduce this, try saving the application window's position and size before launching:
Open the Launcher window and move it to the desired position.
Press and hold the Ctrl button and click on the X button in the upper right corner to close the window.
(This forces Windows to save the window attributes).Open the Launcher window again and move it to a new position.
Proceed with crashing the game:
Launch the game.
Create and connect to a singleplayer world.
Press and hold down F3 + C to force the game to crash.
Notice that the Launcher window updates to the same position and size saved previously.
