When opening the launcher for the first time it opens normally and when I do it again it gives me the error:liblauncher.so errornotfound and in the log it says that I'm missing libc.so.6 (glibc)
I am using unity linix/ubuntu version 16 and I cant seem to be able to update/upgrade the libc6 library, the only efficient method I can do is save my worlds and version in a seperate folder the delete the .minecraft folder entirely.

I have tried uninstalling the launcher but it doesn't work, the only method that works is deleting the .minecraft folder entirely then running the command that reinstall everything. I just need a way to upgrade libc6 library.
Hi!
Can you please upload launcher_log file from your .minecraft and a screenshot/video of the issue?
Also try this.
If you are using Ubuntu/Debian based 64-bit architecture then you need to use sudo apt install libc6
command to install the library package from default Ubuntu repo along with all its dependencies.
Do not close this issue yet!
I have been having the same problem, it usually happens after a fresh install of Linux and I have found no way to fix it.
It usually gets stuck on an update which you a lot of times have to force close, after that it will not open back up.
Affected distros:
Garuda Linux, Ubuntu 23.10 and its flavors, Arch Linux and Some versions of Fedora Linux.
Then please upload launcher_log file from your .minecraft and a screenshot/video of the issue.
This ticket will automatically reopen when you reply.
Hi, can you please attach the entire log as a file? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the launcher?
