[MCL-23981] I can't change my skin

I got this account 3 days ago from microsoft gift code but i can't change my skin it keep saying "Sorry! Something unexpected went wrong...." whenever i try to equip a skin that is not given by the game. I have tried on both minecraft launcher and minecraft.net website and none of those works
