When I try to start the Minecraft Launcher, it shows an error screen. I clicked restart button and the it did nothing. I installed the Minecraft Launcher through the AUR. I recorded a video and posted it on youtube. https://youtu.be/IlGAIiizBkk

The previously provided “simple solution” does not work.
The msi file (which is a Windows Installer Package) does not work well through wine and won’t work without it either, given the difference in file-structure between Windows and (Arch) Linux.
I have the exact same issue and will continue to investigate it.

Hello again!
I tried running the flatpak version of the Launcher and that seems to work fine.
I downloaded it using a flatpakref file, which just started the download of the Launcher version in the “Discover” application of Arch (KDE & Plasma).
That specific Minecraft Launcher was able to be closed and reopened with no errors or other issues.
TLDR: Downloaded the Minecraft Launcher with flatpak. That version worked like a charm.
While this is not a permanent fix, I hope it helps you out.
Best Regards
Joshua
