Pressing the “Cancel” button causes the game to crash with a NullPointerException.

When I click “Singleplayer” from the main menu, it takes me directly to the “Create New World” screen instead of showing my list of saved worlds. If I click “Cancel” on that screen, the game crashes and displays an error screen. This happens consistently in snapshot 25w34b. I’m not using any mods or resource packs, and I’ve tested it on a clean install.

Minecraft Version: Snapshot 25w34b

Edition: Java Edition

Launcher: Minecraft Launcher (Windows 10.0 3.18.26)

Operating System: Windows 11

Java Version: Java 17

Mods/Resource Packs: None

GPU/Graphics Driver: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12450H (2.50 GHz) and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU

We're actually already tracking this issue at [MC-301225] Game crashes when quitting creating new world menu without other worlds created before - Jira Service Management, so I will resolve and link this ticket as a duplicate. 

I suggest also to browse through the main issue for potential fixes.
