[MCL-25828] Minecraft won't load because pack.mcmeta deleted itself?

When attempting to launch Minecraft Java from the Minecraft Launcher it pops up with:

Failed to download file.

I’m not tech savvy and have no idea how to fix this.

Hi!
Does this issue occur on every boot? (can you please try around 3 times?)
Does it occur on every version?
Please also uninstall the Launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere before deletion) and then reinstall, restart your computer. Then please try to boot the Launcher.
