Minecraft Launcher will not update. Open and closed it multiple times, restarted computer multiple times, no fix. Going to delete and redownload

Hi!
Just to be sure, you cannot update Minecraft game or Launcher?
You need to be on the same version of the Game as your friends are to join them.
Could you please check Ms store / Xbox app and try to update the game from there?
As for Launcher, please uninstall the Launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere before deletion) and then reinstall, restart your computer. Then please try to boot the Launcher.
Please also update your windows and drivers.
