my launcher dosen't open in one click

i tried to open my launcher while time was running out on my Aternos.org server but it didn’t open after more than ten clicks and when it opened it kept checking for updates and on my server it was only 1 minute left before it turned off but it didn’t work i restarted my laptop but i took more than a minute and my server closed but the real question is why didn’t the launcher open in one go like every other time
