I made a profile with a 100 letter name and it caused the new profile button to become gigantic. Because of that I cant click the edit profile button because it appears to be under the play button.

1.6.11 there is no restriction for the lenght, so a long name will eventually crash your pc (who knows) or at least it had to change the color mode of Windows
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft Launcher version 2.0.805 / 2.0.806? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.
Keep in mind that the "Resolved"-Status on this ticket just means "Answered", and that we are waiting for further information on whether this issue still exists or not. It will be reopened it as soon as the requested information has been delivered.
No because the new launcher has a completely different UI.
However, it looks like the profile name has still no length limitation.
You need to rename the profile, or get rid of it.
If it doesn't work, save all your resource packs (and if you have, mods), delete .minecraft, and re-download it.
