Can not fully change .minecraft directory

I got another hard drive from my brother and I am now using that for all my games. Minecraft included. When I go into the minecraft launcher and change the profile to the drive, files are still kept in the default drive such as the "versions" "assets" "libraries" folders and the launcher_profiles json file.

Problem: Minecraft is still being stored on the main hard drive however I switched it (or I believe so) to the other hard drive.
