When I attempt to open the minecraft launcher, it starts to update. This update fails every time.

What I expected to happen was...:
The minecraft launcher to finish updating and for my life to continue as normal.

What actually happened was...:
The update always freezes 0.4 GB away from completion and then fails entirely, producing a pop-up window that reads 'The minecraft launcher was unable to update at this time.'
