I am not able to change the skin in the launcher.
Error msg in launcher: cannot upload skin
I am not able to reset skin

I even changed the skin in the minecraft jar file but it gets replaced with the standard one again.
If I change the skin on minecraft profile in the web it says: change successful but in the game I am still a woman.
It worked in the past but after an update of the launcher not anymore
please help
I am having a similar issue on Mac. My default skin was Alex prior to update. Now I'm stuck as Steve and cannot change. It's messing with my world view.
