The Minecraft Launcher tries to update /Applications/Minecraft.app, which works fine in typical circumstances, but fails in more restrictive environments. When in a multi-user lab with network logins, the Launcher updates are now failing when trying to create/unpack/move the new game elements, presumably due to priv blockages.
Any chance the game could intelligently use the ~/Applications dir for temp & update files, when restrictions cause failures, instead of the main /Applications root?

Don't know whether or not this issue still exists, and don't currently have a means of testing; can probably close this.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft Launcher version 2.0.1003 / 2.0.1004? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.
