Since the introduction of the new launcher, and especially after the latest update thereof, I can not start Minecraft anymore (not even with the work around by using the old launcher).
After pressing play, MC seems to start, shows splash screen, then crashes.
Only use OptiFine, but this happens with or without Optifine. No other mods installed.
Tried all fixes and suggestions I found online, nothing works. Please fix this, since I know for a fact of 4 people in my direct surroundings they are experiencing the same problems, all using different hardware.

It is NOT a duplicate, since the fix you suggest does not work (not for me and not for a friend I referred to this 'solution' for the same problem), nor did any other fix or solution I found in the forum and online before I filed my report here.
Please reopen and fix the new launcher troubles.
