However, this issue has been closed as a Duplicate of MC-297.

This is known to be a problem with your computer.

Update your graphics card drivers (Do not rely on automatic updates).
If you are using Java arguments to increase the amount of memory, please reduce it to the default 512MB.

this only happens with the last 2 preview releases, no other versions from prerelease 5 and before have done this for me. thought i would report is as it seems like a fairly important issue!
