Still a problem in 1.18.1
They can even spawn in a single block of water that is completely enclosed (hydration for farm), with non-natural block underneath. You can see their tentacles through the block.
They can also spawn in flowing water (sideways for a waterstream collection system or vertical as in a single column water fall).
This is the single most annoying bug in the game for me.
Preventing them from spawning in the bolded conditions would be the perfect fix imo.
Swoop sound -> killed -> death animation/movement -> entity disappears in a puff of smoke -> ... -> scream
I’m not sure, how could I check on pocket edition? The building does span more than one chunk (which I think is 16x16)
Superflat worlds seem fine, so I went all out and hollowed out a 200x200 cave from Y=11 to just below the surface. Loads of mobs spawning on the floor but still no slimes. Lit up the area using hundreds of torches, killed everything and stood in the middle. After about 3-4 minutes, I finally got a single large slime spawn.
So it seems that they do spawn, but the criteria are so restrictive that, in normal gameplay, Slimes effectively aren't a thing outside of swamp biomes.
Still a problem in 1.15 pre-release 3
No slimes spawn in the world at all.
Used commands to kill everything except for slimes and player, repeatedly. But still no slimes show up.
I don't believe this is a duplicate. This isn't about animation, simply that 11% of skeletons spawn with the bow in their left hand - when it should really be 11% spawning with the bow in their right hand.
