Entities of all kinds despawing randomly

My villagers will randomly disappear as well as farm animals. I haven't had any trouble with my dogs disappearing but so far that is the ONLY animal or entity unaffected. I play on Xbox One S. My village is really suffering and once I get like six villagers they start to disappear I fear my villagers will die out. The same goes for my farm animals I get more than four and they disappear sometimes leaving me with one left in the pen.

If you haven't already done so, you should first try to resolve this problem by asking for help in the Community Support Discord (see link below). In fact, you should always start your problem solving there, unless you know way more than the average Minecraft player. Let me explain.

Problems come in two flavors:

  • When something happens that Mojang doesn't intend, that's a bug and the bug tracker is the place to go, but you don't always know whether something is intended behavior, so...

  • When something happens that you didn't expect, that might be a bug, or it might be that you're expecting the wrong thing. You should check your expectations against Mojang's intentions first, because that's way, way faster than going through the bug repair process.

The way you check your expectations is by asking for help at the Community Support Discord (link below). Collectively, the community knows almost everything about the game and can detect if you've misunderstood the intended behavior. They can also suggest things you can check to help decide whether it's a bug. And Discord is interactive, so in many cases your problem can be solved in a matter of minutes.

On the other hand, if you come straight to the bug tracker first, your solution is going to take a lot longer because this interface isn't interactive and each exchange between us typically takes a day. If you haven't already been through it with Community Support, we'll have to ask you some of the questions they would have, so we're up to several days before we're even convinced it might be a bug. Then we'll pass the report to the developers, who probably won't take a good hard look at it for days to weeks because they're drowning in bug reports, not to mention that they have a development schedule to meet. And when they finally do start work on it,
they can only afford to commit a limited amount of time to searching for a vaguely described bug before they have to conclude that it probably isn't a bug after all. So you could spend several weeks waiting for a response that isn't even a solution, and then you'd just have to go to Community Support for help anyway. It's definitely faster to start there unless you know for certain that your problem is behavior that Mojang doesn't intend to happen.
