Touchpad input rarely recognised

Gameplay is normal with a normal mouse plugged in, but when I use the touchpad most left-click is ignored. This is not the same for any other app, and is the same using the minecraft launcher. I have an Asus K55VD and Windows 10 Home.

I'm having a similar issue on my iPad, I'm clicking on mobs to kill them and nothing happens, click on stone to mine and nothing happens, making it really hard to play since I just keep dying.
