Dissapearing items in double chests and no quartz block crafting recipes.

The newest update in the beta on Xbox one has caused the items in the bottom three rows of double chests to vanish. This caused a loss of many valuable and rare items. When I first updated, the game crashed twice and after it launched and I loaded into my world I found that all of my items in the bottom three rows of my double chests had simply disapearred. This included any double chests anywhere. The next day after dying and respawning at spawn next to my base, the game crashed twice and my efforts to begin recovering from the earlier crash were rendered useless. This makes the game practically unplayable until patched as even an effort to recover is destroyed by a crash that could come at any point. There is no further information I can provide other than the fact that the crafting recipes for all quartz blocks do not appear in the crafting books and you have to drag the blocks into the crafting grid.
