Items in bottom half of double chest disappear when reloading world

Remember, This was the mistake we all made but it was Better if we could play Minecraft on Normal version Instead of Because Anything could go wrong. It so sad that many of you lost bucha goodies. Just to Remember when you Updating you bedrock edition to the latest Version. It is Important to back it up first before you update it to the latest Version. Since my survival world is a Day old. I dont need to Worry about it unless Devs Release Official Version of minecraft so I can Get out of beta.

Now some of you May know why are playing on beta? Because There's a bug going on in 1.16.40 whenever you log into xbox Account. Your minecraft crash. It Happen in Android I Believe

Unloaded chunks wont get effected 

I have this bug too. And I responded to the world, made a copy of it, and even in the copy of the world the items disappeared ...

I've also noted this bug and reported it, I've tested the problem repeatedly and found that some specific items go missing regardless of position in the inventory chest. Specifically diamonds, iron, coal blocks, redstone blocks and nether quartz, sometimes partial items and sometimes an entire inventory of a specific item. I thought I was loosing my mind when restarting a game and thinking that I had at least 2 stacks of iron and was sure I had more diamonds than were in my inventory. I figured I was being somehow trolled by the likes of Donny, 🙂

Half of my items disappeared and why did it have to be my gold, diamonds and coal???? 

can we get this stuff back?

I have the same problem. More data on the subject for the team working to solve the issue. I had loaded the world and lost the bottom half of my gear as previously reported. I then loaded a world I previously copied before the beta 1.16.100.60 update and all the contents of the chests had been successfully loaded, quit the game, reloaded it and lost the bottom half of the chests again. Ended up creating a new world because I had lost so much progress between the copied world and the original. Currently only using single chests and it is a hassle to organize but at least no progress is being lost.

As a point of information for bug reporters and commenters, the terms "top half" and "bottom half" don't identify which half you mean. The single chest you placed first always becomes the top half and the one you attached to it becomes the bottom half, so these terms only tell us something if we also know what order you placed the halves down.

The developers can probably figure out which half has the problem easily anyway, just by trying it out (there are only two possibilities after all). So I wouldn't worry about correcting your comments above and you probably don't even need to be specific about which half you mean. But if you're adding a comment with new, different information and you remember in which order you placed the single chests, you might want to describe them as the "first half" and "second half" instead.

I just got this same bug. I have two rooms with double chests oriented in a side(single block) view from where the player stands, which in the middle of a blocky chest sphere and every chest within the players relative clickable range.  All items that were in the bottom half of the chest contents screen are now gone. I thought I went crazy at first, thinking I had misplaced some gold and iron blocks I needed for a beacon. But after looking through every chest in game, I FINNALY noticed a pattern haha. Just as op said, ender chests, shulker boxes, barrels and single chests are unaffected. Using MC BE(beta) on XBO. 

There is only one possibility as the steps to reproduce instructs a "double" chest be made. I'm having the same problem, when you open a chest, double or single, the bottom part of the inventory is gone after reloading into a game.

Me too, always the bottom half like picture above, in all my chests! Logged into an old world with full chests and have now lost all the bottom halves, because I didn't realise this issue at the time; came out made a copy deleted old copy and have now lost loads of stuff!!! This has occurred since the last update.

Just lost my 3 stacks of diamond and 24 netherite scraps due to this glitch . Hope it is fixed soon .

Well, bad news first, lost my Totem of Undying to this, along with a crap ton of useful items, good news is though, the Wandering Trader has started spawning again!!

Update: it still Affected in 1.16.200.51 Beta...

Can confirm this is still an issue on my xbox one. Even if I load an older world I haven't played the bottom half of the chest is empty. I see there was an update and as of 10/23 it is still a problem. Haven't been able to play the game for a while now.
