Beaconator Achievement Not Working

So, I am currently grinding all the Bedrock achievements in my friend's survival world. I was trying to get the Beaconator achievement, so we went in the nether and spawned several withers and killed them. We made beacons and spent a lot of time grinding for gold blocks for a 4 tier pyramid. We built the 9x9 layer, then the 7x7 layer, then the 5x5 layer, and finally the 3x3 layer. I stood on top of the beacon and placed the beacon on top in the middle. I finally fed an ingot into it and chose strength II. I waited for minutes to get the achievement, but nothing ever came up. I checked my MC profile, but I never saw anything. I am sure that I did everything correctly. I only played MC for 2-3 years now, while my friend has played ever since the game came out, and he said what I did was correct. Is there any way I can get the achievement?
