The use Cellular Data option no longer works

I play Minecraft a lot with my friends and recently my internet got turned off so I have been using the use cellular data option on Minecraft PE then this morning I tried joining and found out there was an update. So I installed it then hit the join button but I got the message "You must be connected to WiFi to play with friends" I thought the use cellular data option got reset when I updated but it was still on so I tried multiple things to fix it but nothing worked so I can no longer play with friends
