Placing a sign on the surface of something breakes and vanishes the block beneath. For example: I place a Chest next to a Wall, right to it there’s a ladder going up the wall. If place the sign now on the right side of the chest, the ladder drops and disappears. Same for lantern, chains and steps, paintings etc. I looked if the dropped blocks could have glitched through a wall, nope.
