Apparently it also affects other blocks

The video shows placing a standing sign while pointing at the top of a block when there is already an end rod in that space. Does this also occur if you point at the end rod, or when pointing at the side of a block to place a wall sign when an end rod is in that space beside the block?

Only when pointing at the side of a block to place a wall sign. Nothing happens if you point at the end rod.

This problem wasn't fixed it occurs in 1.16.100. I added a video clip you can see it isn't in beta because there is no text at the top of the screen.
Edit: Oh no I'm stupid, I understand why its in the current version now, sorry 1.16.200.52 is the fixed beta version

Reopening because I resolved this ticket based on a misunderstanding about beta and release versions. The issue is fixed in the current beta, but not in the 1.16.100 release that went live today. The ticket will remain open until the fix is included in a release version.

I can confirm. It also destroys any other block without dropping it as an item. I tried it by placing one below the foot of the bed, and it destroyed the whole bed.

Confirmable, I noticed this happen when placing a sign on the face of a block adjacent to a slab which deletes the slab without dropping it and the sign is now placed on the face of the block I clicked on.
