I have this issue too. I am traveling by boat and I have to stop and wait about 15 seconds for the area to load around me. While I wait for the blocks to load, I have a 3d view of underground and some block outlines. Another thing I've noticed is that villagers are laying down through walls oronthe ground. I wake them up so they can settle on the bed properly.

Added information:
In android there is an application that shows the chunks generated as you explore the world, according to this application, no chunk generated by this version is loaded when leaving the world.
Which means that every time you explore you generate the same chunks over and over again.
I clarify that what was generated in the previous version if it is loaded and that is not generated again
