Cannot login to Microsoft account in game

I feel like there is some misunderstanding. We are using Amazon Fire HD tablets. There is no Microsoft account profile set up on these tablets, and no way to setup a Microsoft account in the profile in an Amazon tablet. IT IS NOT A PHONE. When I use the Silk browser, I can log into my Microsoft account online. I can also login using the XBox Game Pass app with no problems. All of which I specified in my original post. 

Our Minecraft app was purchased through the Amazon appstore, and we have been able to login and play it, with zero issues for two years. This is a recent problem that we're only having on the Amazon tablets. I can log into Minecraft on my phone, just not on the Amazon tablets. On the Amazon tablets, as stated above, I can login to my Microsoft account everywhere but Minecraft. 

I tried the fix above regardless, and it still isn't working. We don't even get a screen to enter our email, username or password for our Microsoft account in Minecraft, which I feel is probably the actual problem that needs to be addressed. When we open the app, and click "Sign In For Free, it brings up the loading screen that says "Signing In with Your Microsoft Account." This screen goes for anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes before it says, "We tried to sign you in to your Microsoft Account, but something went wrong."

@Karen Ramel, I've been having this issue on my Kindle Fire HD 10 (the newest one), and I tried your solution multiple times, and unfortunately it doesn't do anything.
