I have been running the Win 10 PC version on my laptop and connecting to a family member on xb1 worlds (not using realms, direct invites). We can no longer connect with the error message "outdated client" given. Google suggests this is due to certain machines no longer being supported (DX10 and below for PC, certain RAM capacities) but this laptop is running 16GB RAM & DX 12 so should not be an issue.
When logging in however, the info for realms says version no longer supported and directs to the article about old hardware etc.
