Flint and Steel not start fires

I created flint and steel. But can't get it to work to start a fire. I tried it on wool and wood. I tried:

• tapping on item to light with flint and steel in hand -> no effect

• press and hold on item to light -> acts as a tool to break the item (like a pick or axe)

• pressing the flint and steel in the bar for held inventory -> throws the flint and steel

Fires would be nice.

My device: Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Playing in peaceful mode.
