when I slept in a bed while in a nether portal, my coordinates were multiplied times 8 and i was 7000 blocks away from my home. I tried this in a different world and it worked reliably. this is a huge problem because this is a powerful bug. you must be in survival and it must be night. the timing is not hard to get and it happens often if you try.
